Company Overview

Comstock Mining engages in the exploration and development of mineral properties in Nevada. The company primarily mines for gold, silver, lithium, nickel, cobalt, and mercury ores. It operates in two segments: mining and real estate.

The mining segment of the company controls over 9,000 acres of mining claims and parcels (roughly 2,396 acres of patented claims and surface parcels) and nearly 7,000 acres of un-patented mining claims in the Comstock and Silver City districts. The company primarily focuses on exploring and developing properties in the Dayton resource area, as well as Occidental and Gold Hill properties (which focus on gold and silver).

The real estate segment is made up of land and real estate rental properties (to include the Gold Hill Hotel and Daney Ranch properties). The company also has collaborative agreements with Oro Industries and Mercury Clean Up, for the manufacture and deployment of mercury remediation systems (these systems focuse on processes to reclaim and remediate mercury from soils, waste, and tailings).

Comstock is an emerging leader in sustainable mining and processing and is currently working on systems to commercialize environment-enhancing technologies for precious and strategic minerals recovery.

The company recently increased it’s investment stake in GenMat (Generative Materials, LLC) to 45% by providing an additional $15 million in seed funding. GenMat is in the process of developing a proprietary quantum operating system, focused on the discovery and development of minerals.

The company has also made investments in MCU Philippines (the first international remediation and extraction facility focused on reversing the course of environmental damage) and the LINICO Corporation, a lithium-ion battery recycling company who recently acquired a battery metal recycling facility, located in the immediate vicinity of the Tesla Gigafactory in Nevada.

The current CEO, Corrado De Gasperis, joined Comstock in April 2010.
